Like its counterpart in Universal Studios Hollywood, this theme park is all about movies and TV. You’ll find rides, shows, attractions and dining inspired by franchises including E.T., Harry Potter, Fast and the Furious, Despicable Me and so much more. Enjoy experiences unique to Universal Orlando such as Barney and Curious George play areas for kids or Diagon Alley, the hidden shopping district from Harry Potter.

Because Universal Orlando Resort has so much room to spread out, it’s home to some fantastic rides. Islands of Adventure is where you’ll find themed roller coasters, virtual reality rides and lands that pay homage to Marvel, Dr. Seuss, Harry Potter and more. Be sure to check out the brand-new ride, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which boasts one mile of track and speeds up to 50mph. Take the kids to whimsical Seuss Landing where they can enjoy gentle coasters and performances based on beloved storybook characters The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, Thing 2, The Grinch and others.

For the ultimate water park experience, be sure to make Volcano Bay part of your vacation. This water park is unique in many ways, offering guests of all ages various thrill levels amongst dozens of rides. Take a leisurely float on the lazy river, or a daring canoe ride down, around and through the Krakatau Volcano in the heart of the park. Enjoy themed dining, tube slides, splash pads and more, all with the convenience of TapuTapu Bands.

Each Volcano Bay guest is given a waterproof TapuTapu wristband when they enter the water park. With the TapuTapu, you can enter virtual lines for any ride that has a wait time. Instead of standing in line, just tap your TapuTapu band at the queue for the attraction and enjoy lounging by the beach or “ride now” experiences until it’s time for you to return.

TapuTapu bands can also be linked to a credit card in the Universal Orlando Resort app, allowing you to make purchases, such as food or locker rentals. With the TapuTapu, you can tap your locker open at any time, which is much more convenient than carrying around a key.

Universal Orlando Resort - Ticket Options

Now that you know a little more about what Universal Orlando Resort has to offer, be sure you pick the right tickets for your vacation. There are different combinations depending on which parks you’d like to visit, so check those out below.

Base Tickets: Base Tickets offer admission to one park per day. You can choose discount 2-Park or 3-Park Base Tickets when you book with Get Away Today. 2-Park Base Tickets allow admission to Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, while 3-Park Base Tickets include Volcano Bay. Remember, you can only visit one park per day with Base Tickets.

Park-to-Park Tickets: If you’d like the flexibility of going between parks on the same day, choose discount Park-to-Park Tickets. Park-to-Park Tickets are required in order to ride Hogwarts Express between Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. You can select 2-Park Park-to-Park Tickets, which allow admission to Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure on the same day. 3-Park Park-to-Park Tickets include Volcano Bay.
