Disneyland at Christmas - what not to miss!

Holidays at Disneyland Resort

The Holidays at Disneyland Resort will be upon us very soon and I am personally excited to tell you about my experience and what you do not want to miss! Starting on November 8, 2019, The Merriest Place on Earth is going to be more joyful than ever.

You can experience all the festivities until January 6, 2020. So, let’s get started with the magical things about Disneyland at Christmas that I would not miss, to help you have a magical vacation during the most wonderful time of the year.

1. “Believe…In Holiday Magic” Fireworks. Don’t miss the dazzling fireworks, music and a sprinkling of snowflakes (yes SNOW!) that make spirits soar! **Tip – arrive a little early to get a nice spot near the castle, as it will get packed. This is also a great time to put your glow sticks on your kiddos, there will be a lot of people partaking in the festivities, and glow sticks will make it a little easier to track them!

2. A Christmas Fantasy Parade. Disney Characters join Santa Claus for the merriest musical procession in town! This is a blast, be ready to dance to the music and have a great time.

3. Holiday Décor & Lights. Deck the halls—Disneyland Resort is festooned in finery for the yuletide season. I would say that the holiday décor and lights had to be my favorite part of our Disneyland trip. It was truly breathtaking, and honestly it makes you “feel” full of the holiday spirit. I’ve been on many holiday vacations where it didn’t feel like Christmas, you will not have this problem there!

4. Haunted Mansion Holiday. It’s the Haunted Mansion at its ch-eeriest, with gobs of frightfully festive touches. You will not believe this, but the mansion makeover inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s frightfully fun!

5. Disney Festival of Holidays. Discover a food-, music- and dance-filled holiday celebration inspired by diverse cultural festivities!

6. Season’s greetings at Radiator Springs! Radiator Springs essentially has a magical transformation over-night, the decorations and lights are a must see.

7. Resort Hotels & Downtown Disney. Each of the Disneyland Resort hotels (Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, Disneyland Hotel, and Paradise Pier Hotel), get in the Christmas spirit with decorations and entertainment. If you have some extra time during your Disneyland Christmas vacation, I highly recommend taking a free self-guided tour to take in these sites.

8. Santa! At Disneyland you can meet the one and only Santa Claus! Before Old Saint Nick travels around the world on Christmas Day, he is taking a stop in California Adventure. You can meet Santa and his elves and have a picture opportunity with the one and only. This is the perfect time to let Santa know how good you’ve been throughout the year and your wish for a Disneyland vacation next year too!
