All about the NEW Disneyland Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Virtual Queue

Howdy my fellow Disneyland Star Wars fans!

We all know that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is opening at Disneyland on May 31! With that, visitors can expect that anytime between May 31 through June 23, the attraction will only be open to guests who have an advance reservation and theme park admission.

Guests of the Disneyland Resort Hotels (between May 31-June 23) should have received a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during their stay. The remaining available reservations for the general public during this time-frame were quickly taken.

So where does that leave the rest of the Star Wars fans? Unless you are staying at the Disneyland Resort Hotels prior to June 23 – your first chance to visit the coveted Star Wars land will be June 24!



One question I have been hearing quite a bit is – will the reservations continue, or will it be a free for all? The most recent answer is no! Disney has a plan!

Disneyland will be launching a virtual queue, similar to the FastPass system, in order to control the access to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, so yes there still will be lines, but there will be some control over the crowd flow in the new attraction so that you can spend more time at other Disney attractions instead of the not so fun lines.





How will the queue work?
Once you are inside Disneyland – visit the Disneyland App or a kiosk in the park – you will then be able to sign up to be part of a boarding group to enter Star Wars. It is noted that each boarding group will have a two-hour window to visit the park (but as of right now – no time limit).

**Note – it is important to sign up when entering the park for the day as the boarding groups will fill up!

Disneyland crew members will gauge how crowded the land is before deciding when to accept more boarding groups (which you will receive an alert for). As soon as the land reaches capacity, the app will reflect the new status, and prompt the user to join a boarding group to enter at a later time.

If you haven’t already – now is the perfect time to download the Disneyland smartphone application (available for iOS and Android), and create an account.

• Link your admission ticket or annual passport to your account.


• Link the tickets or passes of your friends and family to your account. This will enable you to make plans for your entire group.


• Just as with Fastpass, your entire party must enter Disneyland before they can join the virtual queue!

Other important dates for Disneyland resort!

• Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort will begin September 6 and run through October 31, 2019. Treats, décor, ride overlays and more will be showcased at both Parks.


• Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party will take place in Disney California Adventure Park and replace Mickey's Halloween Party.


• Dates for the event begin on September 17, 2019 and tickets will only be available through Disney directly beginning April 23rd for passholders, DVC members and Disney Visa Card holders and April 30th for the general public.


• The Oogie Boogie Bash will include the fan-favorite Frightfully Fun Parade and trick-or-treat trails as well as some new immersive entertainment and character encounters.
