A few years back, when I was busy trying to find the best possible deal for Disney’s Aulani in Hawaii, I stumbled upon a great way to save on deluxe accommodations at Disney destinations, including the one and only Aulani. Unfortunately, I was a little too late and all of these special accommodations with budget friendly prices were sold out.

 

What am I referring to? Renting Disney Vacation Club timeshares from the members whom own timeshare “points”. Sometimes DVC owners are unable to use their allotted points before they expire, so they will “rent” them to others. Using DVC rentals could save you hundreds of dollars compared to booking the same deluxe accommodations through Disney directly!

The DVC resorts where you can stay on rented points include:

• Ten resorts at Walt Disney World in Florida: Animal Kingdom Villas, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, Disney’s Villas at Grand Floridian, Disney’s Old Key

Is this allowed by Disney? Yes!

Ok so how does this work? Well, you can book directly with a DVC owner. If you do go this route, please ensure that your transaction is legitimate and that you purchase points from a DVC owner that you know. If this isn’t possible, then I would suggest using David’s Vacation Club Rentals as they are a legitimate DVC Rental Company.
