What to pack for Disney and why….
Packing for your budget friendly Disney Trip? Great let's get started on a few essentials...…
Lets start with breakfast and snacks as this is where you will save money!
• Snacks & Breakfast items! - This is a must in my luggage when I am flying to a Disney park/vacation and I will tell you why. You will get hungry, or hangry, and you will need something to tide you over on your long days in the park. It won’t stop you from buying that turkey leg, but a granola bar and such will help curb your appetite. Another cost saving tip – eat breakfast in your room or on the go! So here is my food/snack list from our Disney Aulani vacation:
o Cereal (the variety pack in small boxes or packaged in bowls.
o Spoons
o Bowls
o Granola & Snack Bars
o Jerky
o Bagels
o Peanut Butter
o Jelly
o Poptarts / Pastries
o Oatmeal Cups
o Mac & Cheese Cups
o Nuts & Dried Fruit
o Popcorn Packets (there may not be a microwave in all of the rooms, but there are microwaves to heat & re-heat food in the food courts).
o Tuna & Crackers
This is a short list but you get the idea right! Some have asked if it is really worth the baggage fee and my answer is YES, if you will eat it. If you have kids, such as myself, you will trust me. The Time changes and the midnight snacks have a way of sneaking up on us. The plus is you can either pack this luggage in another bag, or full it full of your mementos and Mickey Ears!
Other must have items of mine include the following:
• Blister Band-Aids, Chaffing Cream & Baby Powder – You will more than likely be walking miles a day, need I say anymore.
• Laundry Pods, Quarters & a Designated Laundry Bag.
• Small Autograph Book w/ a Pen Tied to it.
• Thank you cards – your housekeeping crewmembers will be thankful and might leave you a surprise.
• Ponchos
• Tissues
• Pain Reliever for those nasty aches, pains and headaches (trust me, you will know when it is naptime in the parks).
• Battery operated small fan for the long lines.
• Lanyard w/ a pouch for Disneyland & Aulani (Walt Disney World has the Magic Bands – which are a lifesaver, but do not forget to pack them)
• Sunblock
• Backpack or fanny pack (are they still called that??)
• Stamps (to mail your awesome postcards)
• Waterproof camera
• Headphones
• Earplugs
• Beach Towels & a Beach Bag
• Swim Ear Water Removal
• Water Goggles
• Water Shoes
• Sunglasses
• Hand Sanitizer
• Glow Sticks
• Mini Foldable Cooler that can fit in your backpack.
• Clothing
-Bright & Neon clothing for your little ones works the best. Trust me! The wave pools and water slides in the water parks are very busy but thankfully with neon orange I was able to spot my little guys quickly which helped me relax and have a good time.
• This of course is a very short list, but they are my must need items for any Disney trip. Check out our packing lists and other freebies here!
