Aulani – A Disney Resort & Spa

 



Whenever I am asked if Aulani is worth it, speaking from personal experience my answer is always yes. I will be sharing more posts about Aulani from my perspective, but first of all I wanted to share with you a few reasons why my family felt that our experience was truly exceptional, and I have no doubt in my mind that yours will be too.

Be Our Guest

I can honestly say that without a doubt, the number one reason why our visit to Aulani was exceptional was because of the Cast Members. Our initial greeting alone was memorable and each day our expectations were not let down. Like any other Disney Vacation, the customer service the Cast Members provided was top notch and amazing.  The cultural connection to the island was also an experience that I will never forget.

 

** Here is a small disclaimer. I am honestly not a picky person, and I can be pretty content at times. My husband is a fish out of water in a crowd of vacation goers, the Cast Members seemed to catch on to this and assisted in our (or maybe his) multiple questions of directions and the must dos on the Island of Oahu. With that, and working in customer service, I try not to ask anyone to do something that I would not do myself if given the opportunity.

 



 

Don’t want to leave the resort – you don’t have to.

Aulani has it all, if not there, it is in walking distance. I will quickly go over what is included (this is not a complete list as amenities seemed to be endless):

  • Swim, snorkel, paddleboard or boogieboard right next to the resort in a perfect lagoon. Want to relax on the beach? Great, rent a cabana for the day. **Tip – if you are going to be spending the day at Aulanis beach, plan to head a out a little earlier than normal to “save” the perfect spot.
  
  
  • Partake in a pool party with Disney Character’s.
  
  
  • Kids beginning at age 3 can visit Aunty’s Beach House while giving you a much-needed break. **Tip - parents get in line early that morning to get your kiddos on the list. Space does fill up quickly.
  
  
  • Excursions - these can be set up through Aulani or through another vendor. Our family adventured on a catamaran, snorkeling and sailing – It was amazing. **Tip – do not forget your underwater camera.

Rooms & Suites -

• The Standard Rooms are perfect for a family of 4. Each room has a private balcony or porch – perfect to catch the amazing sunset, small refrigerator, coffee maker, Disney spa products (which are amazing), and an in-room safe.

 

Dining -

• Dining options seem to be perfect, there is quick-service dining around the resort, a buffet, table service dining and lounges / bars as well as room service. Character Breakfasts and special Holiday festivities are also a plus here as well.


• Located within walking distance you will find other dining options including sushi, pizza and ice cream to name a few. You will also find a market where you will be able to grab a few things for your room such as beverages, snacks (if you didn’t pack them), and all of the chocolate covered macadamia nuts you can eat. It’s also a perfect place to find souvenirs!
